| As Consumers, We Have the Power to Shape our Towns. We’re all aware of the bad economy. The news makes sure of that. Prices risings, jobs being cut and many of us are facing difficult decisions. How long it lasts is unknown to everyone and seemingly out of our control. However, each of us has a choice on how we view and react to the current situation. What we can control is our own actions and our ways, as a community. You can make a difference by being aware of the impact of your dollars.
A locally owned, independent business returns approximately 70% of each dollar spent back to the community. Take a stand and choose to keep your town thriving by supporting the locally owned businesses in your community. Start with something easy, like a cup of coffee, some fresh pastries, a unique gift or household item, and go from there.
What 3 locally owned stores would you truely miss if they didn't exist? The 3/50 Project states that if each of us spends $50.00 a month, shopping in our donwtown stores, we can boost our local economy. Isn't that an amazing thought? Click here to learn more and to chime in on your 3 favorite shops. (Mine are all about food!)
